Today is Bits' birthday. What am I doing for him? Basically just get him a gift and treat him a meal. Nite said both of us are boring like an old married couple. I concur and neither of us likes to plan all these stuff. So a meal and birthday presents works for us.
I always try to give presents of almost equal value and being in a relationship is no different. I already know what I wanted to buy for him and base on the valentine present, I kinda took a stab and assume he might spend close to $100 for my present. Since I was back in Bolehland, I thought maybe I can leverage on the airport duty free and the cheaper currency rate. I eventually manage to get what I want for him. In retrospect I should have waited to see my present. He got me a Tissot Watch. OMG! It cost almost $300.
AIYO! I almost faint. I think for second he looked worried as I am on the verge of giving it back to him. I can never do that to him as it will break his fragile heart. Actually what I was cringing about was the present I already got for him fell short of the value of what he gave me.
Yeah, I know, it the heart that counts bla bla bla....but I just feel bad giving him something so much cheaper than what he got me. SO I was on a frantic mission to top up my gift. Luckily Nite helped. Seriously, if this relationship progresses to marriage, she will get an angpow for all the support she gave me in this relationship. Anyway after a frantic search I finally top it off with a winter scarf.
Let's hope he likes what I got him.
